FACULTY OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION, FINANCE AND ECONOMICS                                         

The Faculty of Business Administration, Finance and Economics has been a promoter of the entrepreneurial spirit in its academic programs and a leader in th area of entrepreneurship which contributes to its prestige in both the national and international academic community. The Faculty offers two undergraduate programs: The first is Business Administration, one of the first academic programs in the country and the first to receive High Quality Accreditation from the National Accreditation Council. The second program is Economics, the only program of its kind in the country which combines the skills and knowledge of the classic economist with those of a financial manager.

FACULTY OF ENGINEERING                                                                                                                    

We create engineers who generate value. The Faculty of Engineering was founded in 1987 with the program in Systems Engineering. Almost 10 years later in January 1997, the Production Engineering program was introduced.

Presently, the Faculty also offers the Environmental Engineering program which is orientated towards a new business focus in an attempt to improve productivity and competitiveness

The Basic Sciences Program is a part of the Academic Vice Rectory and lends services to the Faculty of Engineering where it has responsibility for the basic education and development of complex thought and analytical structures through its educational, research and outreach services. The program consists of courses in Mathematics, Quantitative Methods, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

FACULTY OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES                                                                             

Since the founding of the Faculty on 1998, we have contributed to the local and international labor markets in a number of ways. The undergraduate program in Modern Languages (English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Mandarin), the new academic program in Cultural Studies and Management and the offer of transversal elective courses in Humanities are indications of a broad vision of our contribution. We invite you to learn more about our contributions in research as well as our agreements and continuing education programs.

Currently, we have a large group of teachers, working in multidisciplinary areas such as research, academics and outreach. They undergo continuous training, thanks to the opportunities offered by the University.

FACULTY OF POSTGRADUATE STUDIES                                                                                                 

The Faculty of Postgraduate Studies has the principal objective of planning, organizing and executing postgraduate programs which are centered on organizations.

It designs and imparts informal academic programs which are adapted to business needs in collaboration with the Department of Social Extension.

The Faculty is a part of the academic missionary process and has the following responsibilities through the different programs it offers:

• Direct teaching, research and social extension activities according to its area of specialty.

• Oversee the maintenance of the highest standards of quality in the execution of all processes and in general, the provision of services associated with the different academic programs which are offered in the Faculty.

• Design and implement support and control mechanisms that contribute to high levels of quality in all its programs.

• Direct the design and execution of new academic plans and programs.

• Organize and orientate administrative and academic programs in the provision of different services.

• Coordinate the provision of support services for the adequate execution of academic programs in collaboration with the other Faculties and departments of the University.

• Oversee the adherence to student and teacher regulations and other existing norms.

• Exercise control and evaluate staff performance within the Faculty.

FACULTY OF DISTANCE EDUCATION

The Faculty of Distance Education is an academic and technological unit responsible for the development of learning methodologies that stimulate and encourage autonomous learning and the use of new information and communication technologies in order to support teaching and learning processes in the academic programs offered by Universidad EAN. In addition, the Faculty is responsible for leading, in collaboration with the other Faculties of the University, all processes in the design and the creation of academic programs to be offered through distance education.

The Faculty develops training programs for teachers and students in new information and communication technologies which are applied to the learning process and propose mechanisms that stimulate the intellectual production of the teachers of the University in order to ensure that the programs which are taught through distance education are adequately developed.

The spirit of the Faculty reflects the following objectives:

• Promote the use and development of new technology in the learning process and in the transfer of information.

• Stimulate the use of technology in communication in such a way that it encourages autonomous learning.

• Be inclined towards the development of the study habits and discipline required to guarantee the satisfactory completion of educational programs.
